2008-01-28: Juventutem USA:

In your charity, I humbly ask you to pray for me this weekend as I go to Columbus, OH to celebrate the life and commemorate the first anniversary of the death of dear friend and fiancee, John Bianco.  Monday will mark one year after his death.  This has been a difficult year for me and I know that I would not have made it without your prayers.  So I ask you again, please pray for me and for the soul of John Bianco.

Requiem aeternam
Dona ei, Domine
Et lux perpetua luceat ei
Requiescat in pace.

Yours in Christ,
Amanda

2007-11-14: Juventutem Ireland:

On November 14th last, I collapsed whilst distributing pro-life information with Ultrasound in Galway. I suffered a seizure and was rushed to hospital in Galway. I was admitted and remained there for several days. During some tests it was discovered that I had something on my brain and required further tests in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. It was deemed necessary to have surgery on November 23rd. I had a successful surgery, though the find was removed and deemed to be malignant. Through the grace of God, I hope it doesn't return but the doctor is confident that there are cells still present. The plan now is a further scan in about six weeks and adopt a 'watch and wait' strategy'. I must point out the tumour is low grade and slow growing. Only for the seizure, it's probable it may not have been discovered. It was there for many years and I never knew this.

I'm back in Galway since earlier this evening. I am very thankful to God, my parents, friends, family supporters, Juventutem members who supported in so many ways. To the priests who offered Mass, to those who kept me in the prayers. To those who visited me, phoned, kept me in their thoughts, sent cards, flowers, I'm thankful to the doctors, surgeons, nurses in both hospitals. To those in Youth Defence and all. Deo Gratias.

I will take it easy and college is on hold but will make contact with people in due time. The main point is I'm in good spirits, had a good surgery and making a good recovery. Through the grace of God I will be meeting as many as possible before Christmas.
Yours in Christ
Robert [Lane, from Juventutem Ireland]
