How does a Juventutem group start?
If three persons or more in the same location (parish, city, region) have discussed their common interest for Juventutem, and have started praying together (Holy Rosary for instance), or at Holy Mass, they can contact us to become affiliated as a Juventutem group.
They would be encouraged to speak with their local priest (pious and doctrinally sound) asking whether they could commit as Juventutem members for Holy Hour or for works of charity. They should also ask him for doctrinal formation.
Other activities (e.g. sports, music, travels) are encouraged as well to strengthen friendship among the members.
Particular cases:
-
You wish to join an already existing Juventutem group: please forward to us your form (with contact details and signatures) via the leader of this group.
-
You belong to a group already existing with a different name that does not include the name « Juventutem »: if the members of your group share our aims of the sanctification of youths according to the Roman traditions of the Church, and wish to take our three spiritual commitments, the leader of your group may request in writing to our central office that your group became affiliated with Juventutem, so that we may be mutually encouraged by prayer and friendship. Your group will naturally keep its current name, its own members and leadership, its chaplain and its specific aims.
Remark: The bond uniting the members (whether Juventutem chapters or other associations or individuals) with the International Juventutem Federation is essentially a bond of honour and mutual trust. The Federation can bear no public liability for its members’ possible misdemeanours, fines or condemnations.
